Expanders for connecting multiple sensors via RS485

RS485 expanders are used to increase the number of RS485 bus terminals on FIEDLER telemetry stations, data loggers, and control units. They are used in situations where it is necessary to connect a large number of sensors or transducers to a single RS485 communication line without complex wiring. FIEDLER offers both DIN rail-mount versions and compact designs for smaller control panels or enclosures.

  • Increased number of RS485 connection points
  • Ability to connect multiple sensors to a single bus
  • Options for DIN rail and compact installations
  • Simpler cabling and maintenance
  • Compatibility with FINET / RS485 systems
  • Suitable for telemetry and industrial applications

Description

The following models are available:
- EXSV/DIN-RS485 – 4-channel terminal block expander for DIN rail mounting
- EXSV/DIN/K-RS485 – DIN version with a multi-conductor connection cable
- EXSV/K-RS485 – compact dual-channel terminal block expander for smaller enclosures without a DIN rail

The expanders are commonly used with C8, H3, H7, Q2, or E2 stations. The DIN version, EXSV/DIN-RS485, measures 35 × 89 × 34 mm and is designed for standard mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail. The compact EXSV/K-RS485 version includes a 30-cm 4-wire cable permanently attached to the unit.

Applications

  • Connecting multiple sensors to data loggers
  • Expanding telemetry stations
  • Water and environmental monitoring
  • Industrial control systems
  • Control panels and process enclosures
