Company profile

We measure, transmit and control.

Development, manufacturing, installation and service under one roof. Since 1990, we have been developing and manufacturing our own systems for measurement, data acquisition and transmission, monitoring and process control. We focus on water management, environmental protection, industry and research.

We develop our own hardware, firmware and software, which allows us to tailor solutions to the specific application and operating conditions. We provide development, manufacturing, installation and after-sales service — from individual measuring instruments to complex telemetry and control systems.

We have delivered over 40,000 measuring and control units. Our devices operate both in normal conditions and in harsh environments, often for years without intervention and in places with limited access.

What we do

We develop and manufacture technology for:

  • water level, flow and quality measurement
  • surface water and groundwater monitoring
  • meteorological and environmental measurement
  • telemetry and remote data transmission
  • process control and automation
  • data acquisition, archiving, visualization and evaluation
  • local warning and flood protection systems
  • cloud services for managing and working with measured data
Our strengths
In-house development and manufacturing
Hardware, firmware and software are all created under our control. This allows us to tailor measurement and control systems to the specific application and operating conditions.
Reliability in the field
Our devices are designed for long-term operation in harsh conditions and in places with limited access to electricity.
Low power consumption
For battery-powered stations, a long operating life without frequent servicing is essential. Stations in boreholes run for 5–10 years without a battery change.
Remote data access
Telemetry systems enable continuous data transmission, remote monitoring and, in many applications, remote control.
History
1990 — Company founded
  • Ing. Jindřich Fiedler begins developing microprocessor-based control units.
1991–1997 — First series production
  • The M4016 series is created and becomes the foundation for further development of measurement and telemetry systems.
2002 — FIEDLER-MÁGR
  • The company continues under a new name and expands its manufacturing and development activities. After the August floods, we become one of the suppliers of the new network of water gauging stations for the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ).
2004 — Telemetry and GSM
  • The M4016 dataloggers are upgraded to telemetry stations. New Atmel processors add GSM/GPRS data communication, and we launch our own server for remote configuration and data archiving.
2005 — Ultrasonic probes US1200, US3200, US4200
  • A new design with a permanently integrated cable and stainless steel housing, significantly more resistant to the external environment.
2007 — Telemetry stations M4516 / STELA
  • A stainless steel design and Li-SOCl₂ batteries enable measurement in underground shafts for up to five years without a battery change.
2008 — Water quality probes
  • A series of industrial probes for measuring pH, redox potential, dissolved oxygen and conductivity is introduced.
2009 — Satellite transmission via Iridium
  • The first data transmissions from M4016 stations outside Europe via a low Earth orbit satellite network — measurement even where there is no terrestrial coverage.
2012 — H40G and TSH22
  • A telemetry station for boreholes from 40 mm in diameter and a 22 mm submersible probe make measurement possible in narrow boreholes.
2014 — South Bohemian Science and Technology Park
  • We move to larger premises near the University of South Bohemia.
2015 — FIEDLER AMS s.r.o.
  • The company changes its legal form from a partnership of individuals to a limited liability company.
2016–2017 — International projects and flood protection
  • FIEDLER technology is deployed in projects in Antarctica and Kenya. The LEVEL LOGGER H2 series is developed for flood warning systems and rain gauges. At the same time, we expand into IoT and smart metering.
2018 — IoT networks and Fiedler Connect
  • We deploy our first devices for NB-IoT networks and release the first version of the Fiedler Connect app. We supply measurement systems for the largest wastewater treatment plant in the Czech Republic, in Prague, and extend our range to complete switchboards.
2019–2020 — Series production and second-generation cloud
  • Series production of the H11 and H520 level meters begins, and our first larger installation in Austria is completed. Our infrastructure moves to the CESNET network, and we launch a new generation of our cloud platform.
2021–2022 — Certification and large measurement networks
  • The Q2 flow meter is certified. We supply a network of weather stations for the Krkonoše Mountains National Park (KRNAP) and a measurement system for the Radioactive Waste Repository Authority (SÚRAO). We move to Dobrovodská 785/14c.
2023–2024 — Quality and modernization
  • We modernize the ČHMÚ snow measurement network and introduce a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001.
2025 — Customer support
  • A dedicated support department and helpdesk are established. Large-scale deliveries to water utilities and evaporimeters for Povodí Moravy (Morava River Basin Authority).
2026 — International SAFEGUARD project
  • We join a Czech–German research project on a flood early warning system. Here, real-time data from our stations are used for the first time as input for artificial intelligence models which, combined with hydrological and hydraulic models, forecast how flood situations will develop.

Where we are heading

Since 1990, we have delivered over 40,000 measuring and control units. Many of them have been working in the field for ten or even fifteen years without intervention — and what we have learned about their operation over that time drives our further development. Our goal is for devices not just to report a fault, but to warn in advance.

At the same time, we are working on data availability. We are developing cloud tools for device management, remote configuration and integration with our customers’ dispatch systems. In communications, we follow modern low-power technologies that extend the life of battery-powered stations and expand their use to places with limited coverage.

But the foundation remains the same as at the start: a device must measure reliably even where no one will visit it for years. Everything else is built on that.
