Remote Meter Reading for Households

Water, gas, and electricity consumption account for a significant portion of households’ regular expenses. How it works

How It Works

The remote reading device connects to a water meter or other measuring device and, at set intervals, records and transmits the measured values to the CloudFM system. Data is transmitted wirelessly, for example via GSM/GPRS or NB-IoT. By default, readings are transmitted once a day, but the interval can also be set to weekly or monthly. Exceptional events, such as a detected water leak, can be transmitted immediately upon detection. Battery power enables long-term operation without the need for a connection to the electrical grid.

Software

CloudFM – A GOOD APP IS ESSENTIAL

The app is connected to data readers that collect data from meters and sensors; this data is then uploaded to a server and archived in a database that users can access via a web browser. Everything works automatically, so you can monitor all activity from the comfort of your home. The app verifies every reading it receives and incorporates it into statistics; as a user, you can view this data in a visually appealing format through graphs and tables, and you can customize the entire interface to suit your exact needs. The app also supports exports to several data formats. All of this works within an easy-to-use environment that you can manage from a computer, smartphone, or tablet.

ELM - Converters for Electricity Meter Readings

The ELM converter is designed for remote reading of electricity consumption. It can be used with electricity meters commonly used by power distribution companies. Using the supplied cable, the converter connects to FIEDLER data loggers via an RS485 bus using the MODBUS RTU protocol.
The ELM converter enables infrared data communication with electricity meters in accordance with the ČSN EN 62056-21 standard in Protocol C mode, which defines bidirectional data exchange with switchable communication speeds.
