Pyranometers operate on the principle of thermopile detectors, which convert solar radiation captured over a hemispherical field of view of 180° into an electrical signal proportional to the light intensity. Thanks to their robust design with glass or quartz domes, these devices are resistant to weather, humidity, and temperature fluctuations.
The various models differ as follows:
- CMP3: basic ISO 9060 Class C pyranometer (economy model).
- CMP6: mid-range ISO 9060 Class B radiation measurement.
