MEK1 – RS-232 / MODBUS_RTU External Communication Module

The MEK1 module is used to connect external devices that communicate via RS-232 to compatible FIEDLER units using the RS485 bus under the FINET protocol. The external device features a 9-pin CANON RS-232 connector, while communication with the station takes place via RS-485. In the standard configuration, the MODBUS RTU communication protocol is implemented on the RS-232 side.

Description

The MEK1 module is used to connect external devices to stations H1, H2, and H3 via an RS-232 serial communication line.
On the side of the connected external device, the module features an RS-232 bus connected to a separate 9-pin CANON connector, while on the side of the connected unit (H1 or other), it features an RS-485 bus using the FINET protocol. In its basic configuration, the MEK1 module implements the MODBUS_RTU communication protocol on the RS-232 side.
The module is designed for mounting in a control cabinet on a 35-mm DIN rail.
