Temperature sensors

Pt100 – Resistance Temperature Sensor

The Pt100 is a resistance temperature sensor based on a pure platinum resistance of 100 Ω at 0 °C. The change in resistance is proportional to temperature and enables accurate and stable measurements over a wide range. Pt100 sensors are the standard for both industrial and laboratory applications because they combine good linearity, durability, and long-term signal stability. Pt100 sensors are easily integrated into measurement systems, control systems, data loggers, and telemetry stations. They are available in various configurations (e.g., with a protective well, cables, or connectors), allowing you to select the optimal option for your specific application.

  • Resistive temperature sensor with a platinum element
  • Standard resistance of 100 Ω at 0 °C
  • High measurement accuracy and stability
  • Wide operating range
  • Various mechanical designs and protective wells
  • Compatible with common measurement systems and telemetry

Description

A Pt100 resistance sensor uses a platinum element whose electrical resistance at 0 °C is 100 Ω. As the temperature rises, the resistance increases almost linearly, which allows for easy conversion of resistance values to temperature data using standard conversion tables or calibrations in measurement systems. Pt100 sensors have low hysteresis, good repeatability, and long-term stability, which is why they are widely used in industrial temperature measurement.
The Pt100 output signal is typically measured in a bridge circuit and converted by temperature transducers into standardized outputs for further processing in a data logger or control system.

Applications

  • Industrial temperature measurement
  • Temperature monitoring in tanks and piping
  • HVAC / air conditioning systems
  • Integration with telemetry stations and data loggers
  • Laboratory and control measurements
