The telemetry station meets the high requirements for battery-powered devices primarily thanks to its unique design, which—in addition to its own electronics with very low current consumption—includes 2 to 4 lithium batteries with a maximum capacity of more than 50 Ah. These batteries also have very low self-discharge rates and are therefore capable of powering the telemetry station—along with its connected sensors—for more than 10 years while transmitting measured data daily to a database on a server via a built-in GSM/GPRS modem.
STELA-3 telemetry stations can thus be used to create extensive monitoring networks independent of an external power supply, and they can also be combined into a single system with the more sophisticated H7, H3, or with the small H1 and H40 data loggers.
