The pulsed flowmeter with a 500-ml tilting double-paddle is designed to monitor low water flow rates in the range of 0 to 5 l/min. The tipping-bucket mechanism can operate even at higher flow rates; however, the measurement error resulting from the measurement principle used increases disproportionately (the flipping time is influenced by the inertia of the filled paddle, the kinetic energy of the inflowing water, the continued inflow even during the flipping time, and water splashing at higher flow rates).
When connected to a H3, H1, H7, or STELA telemetry units, this robust flow meter can be used to monitor instantaneous flow as well as to calculate total flow volume, including automatic transmission of measured data to an online database and graphical and tabular visualization of measured flows and total flow volumes.
