Level sensors are available in three ranges depending on the required measurement distance, from 1.2 m (US1200) to 4.2 m (US4200).
The DCL (Digital Current Loop) output signal wire allows the sensors to be connected to the units. The DCL current signal is resistant to ambient interference and can therefore be advantageously used in larger measurement systems (such as wastewater treatment plants). In portable systems, ultrasonic sensors are often connected to the data logger via a detachable connector with a high IP67 protection rating.
In the US1200/RK through US4200/RK models, the sensor body is equipped with a robust plastic louvered radiation shield, which reduces measurement errors caused by the temperature difference between the sun-exposed sensor and the air temperature beneath it. Sensors of this type are suitable, for example, for monitoring small river flows or snow depth.
