The vertical movement of the float is transmitted via a stainless steel cable with a counterweight to rotate the level gauge pulley. This rotational movement is detected non-contact by a special magnetic sensor and further processed by a built-in microprocessor. This modern method has made it possible to achieve a sensor resolution of 1 mm with a virtually unlimited measuring range. The PSH-30 level gauge can measure level fluctuations over a range of up to 30 m.
The level gauge’s high operational reliability—even in the constantly damp environment of shafts and boreholes—was achieved by using a stainless-steel bearing for a secure and stable pulley mounting and by encapsulating the electronic circuits, including the magnetic sensor itself, in a water-resistant material. As a result, only a single cable extends from the level meter, connecting it to the RS485 interface of the H3, Q2, or H7 units, or to the H1 Hydro Logger.
The measured water level is transmitted via the FINET communication protocol to the connected data logger, where it is stored in the data memory at regular intervals and simultaneously displayed on the unit’s screen. The desired level is also set using the connected unit’s keypad during installation of the level sensor.
The level gauge also comes with a universal stainless steel bracket that allows for vertical adjustment of the pulley and features mounting holes for attachment to a workbench, wall, or tubular boom using clamps. A retaining bracket on the mount secures the cable with the float and counterweight.
