VEGAPULS C 23 – Radar Level Transmitter

The VEGAPULS C 23 is a highly accurate radar level sensor with a measuring range of up to 30 m, suitable for water supply and industrial applications.

  • Very high measurement accuracy of up to ±2 mm
  • Virtually zero temperature dependence
  • Measurements are not affected by pressure or dust
  • Accurate measurements even when foam is present on the surface
  • Zero dead zone below the sensor (with slightly increased measurement inaccuracy in the range up to 25 cm below the sensor)
  • A narrow beam angle of 8° allows the sensor to be used even in confined spaces such as underground sumps
  • Measurements are unaffected by ambient noise generated during hopper filling
  • User-friendly limit settings without the need to fill and empty the hopper
  • No maintenance required (condensation or dust adhering to the sensor does not interfere with operation)
  • Radar sensor as a technologically advanced replacement for ultrasonic sensors
  • 4–20 mA two-wire connection to H1, H2, H3, H7, and Q2 stations, even in battery-powered systems operating in switched mode
  • A sensor with a Modbus or SDI-12 digital output is available upon request for an additional charge

Description

The sensor transmits a frequency-modulated radar signal via an antenna system. The signal frequency varies in a sawtooth pattern. The transmitted signal, after being reflected by the medium, is received by the antenna as an echo with a shifted frequency. The frequency shift is proportional to the measured distance.

  • Measurement of all types of liquids, even under high pressure or at extreme temperatures
  • Suitable for monitoring not only wastewater tanks but also tanks containing thinners, solvents, or other corrosive liquids
