PiloTREK WP200 – Radar Level Sensors

The main advantages of the PiloTREK W-200 radar level transmitters include, above all, high level measurement accuracy of up to ±2 mm with a virtually zero dead zone, a narrow beam angle, and a compact antenna design, which also makes installation easy. The 80 GHz technology enables reliable measurements even under challenging conditions, such as when steam is present above the liquid surface or in liquids with a gas cushion. The level transmitter uses FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) technology and enables the measurement of level, distance, volume, weight, and flow in open channels. The level transmitter can be configured via the service interface and HART communication, or via Bluetooth® and the MobileEView app.

  • High level accuracy of up to ±2 mm
  • Measurement range of up to 20 m, depending on antenna type
  • Virtually zero dead zone
  • 2-wire connection: 4–20 mA + HART
  • 80 GHz (W-Band) frequency
  • Small antenna diameter and narrow beam angle
  • User-friendly threshold management to eliminate fixed obstacles
  • Configuration via HART, service interface, and Bluetooth® with the MobileEView app
  • Integrated design with IP68 protection
  • PP or PVDF antennas
  • Capable of measuring flow in open channels
  • Level transmitter models for hazardous locations

Description

PiloTREK WP-200 level transmitters are integrated non-contact radar level transmitters operating at a frequency of 80 GHz (W-Band). They are supplied with 1" and 1½" encapsulated horn antennas made of PP or PVDF.
These level transmitters are suitable for measuring the levels of liquids, emulsions, and other media, including applications involving steam, gas cushions, or vacuum conditions. Thanks to their narrow beam angle and compact antenna, these level transmitters can be easily installed even in space-constrained environments.
The PiloTREK WP-200 is also available in a version designed for hazardous locations.

Applications

  • Due to their high accuracy and measurement stability, radar level transmitters are used to measure the levels of liquids, liquid mixtures, emulsions, and other media wherever there are heightened requirements for measurement accuracy and reliability
  • Radar level transmitters are also used in applications with vapor above the liquid surface, in liquids with a gas cushion, or in a vacuum
  • They are also suitable for measuring levels in storage and chemical tanks, open sumps, shafts, and wells, or for measuring through a plastic tank cover
  • The industries in which radar level transmitters are primarily used include water management, energy, food processing, pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry, agriculture, and other industrial operations
