VEGAPULS C 21 – Radar Level Transmitter

The VEGAPULS C 21 is a highly accurate radar level sensor designed as a superior replacement for ultrasonic sensors, primarily in the water supply industry and for measuring the volume of discharged wastewater. The sensor’s flood-resistant housing with an IP68 rating ensures long-term, maintenance-free operation.

  • Very high measurement accuracy of up to ±2 mm

  • Zero dead zone below the sensor (with slightly increased measurement inaccuracy in the range up to 25 cm below the sensor)

  • User-friendly limit settings without the need to fill and empty the hopper

Description

The sensor transmits a frequency-modulated radar signal via the antenna system. The signal frequency varies in a sawtooth pattern. The transmitted signal, after being reflected by the medium, is received by the antenna as an echo with a changed frequency. The change in frequency is proportional to the measured distance.
